FD-S low ballast elevation with south orientation

DICONAL® offers a new flatroof PV mounting system for installations with south orientation. The target was to develop a leighter, cheaper and stable solution. With DICONAL® system profiles P40, P-80 the preassembled FD-S frames are firmly connected with each other. The result is a high resistance against torsion. Despite 13 years of constant innovation DICONAL® FD-S is still compatibel with all system components. The available mounting support helps to accelerate the mounting.
FD-S Application
For flat roofs up to 5° tilt, that allow no roof penetration and only small extra load on the roof. The aerodynamic optimization prevents the PV system from sliping and blowing away.

Adjusting Mounting support FD-OW 32707
The distance between the preassembled frames is determined by the length of the modules. We provide the „assembly stencile“ to make it easy to bring the rows in the correct distance.
Insert the two mounting aids in a P-40 profile. Position the module right and left on the edges (illustration 1-3) - adjust - fix and repeat the adjustment for further module rows.




Mounting
- Measure + mark with chalk line (note edge regions) + position preassembled elevation frames
- Align the frames with the DICONAL® Mounting support FD-OW 32707 and fix them in the perfect position
- Tighten the P-40 connection profiles in the clamp position - Use the Mounting support at any position
- Now the P-80 profile section can be taken out of the transport position and be fix them in the right position with the connector




- Fix the windprotection sheets
- Module fastening with MMK and MEK module clamps on the P-40 and P-80 profiles
- Important: The modules must be placed at the bottom in the positioning angle!
- Place the ballast according to the plan
- The connection profiles P-40 can be connected with a P-80 connector to a continuous profile level

DICONAL® FD-S
Compatible

Modules can be fixed with DICONAL® - Module clamps because FD-S is 100% compatible to the system components.
Pre assembled

The module supports of the DICONAL® flatroof - elevation will be delivered completely pre assembled.
Protection

The FD-S elevation frames will be delivered with special anti-slip protection and profile end caps.
Delivery

DICONAL® elevation FD-S can be packed and delivered as desired.

On uneven roofs

The continuous connecting profiles increase the rigidity of the entire construction and thus facilitate installation on uneven roof surfaces.
Coherent structure

Connected profile structures can be easily aligned on the surface. DICONAL® FD-S angles are connected at the lower edge of the module; a short P-80 profile section is sufficient at the top.
Minimal use of materials

On the upper side, the modules themselves stabilize the entire structure. DICONAL® FD-S is designed to achieve maximum stability with minimal use of materials.
Torsionally rigid

The torsion-resistant construction of the DICONAL® FD-S elevation only requires support at certain points. This allows parts of the system to "float" above the ground, preventing water buildup at the edges.
Lightning protection: DICONAL® FD-S
FD-S and FD-OW are built with the same system compatible components. In 2022 our Photovoltaik-flatroof system DICONAL® FD-OW was tested successfully for lightning current capability by DEHN Test Centre in Neumarkt. Test report FD-OW. FD-S will deliver the same technical parameters if the following DEHN parts will be used according to the test report.
Necessary components by DEHN are:
- UNI-grounding terminal (Art.-Nr. 540 250 / Erdungsklemmen)
- Aluminium-Round wire (Ø 8 mm / Aluminium-Runddraht)
- Clamp shoe (Art.-Nr. 347 205 / Klemmschuh)
- M8 x 20 flat head screw manufacturer DEHN (Flachrundkopfschraube)
